AT&T Upgrades Network - How They're Improving Their Reputation

AT&T Solution ProviderIt’s no secret that AT&T isn't known for having the high level of customer satisfaction, but that's quickly chaning. The most notable reason for their bad reputation stemmed from iPhone users. However, AT&T has now responded by investing $20 billion dollars to modify and improve their network throughout the nation.

Included in the investment was a new network now known as 4G, which not only integrated enhancements on the 3G network, but increased speeds up to ten times that of 3G. Not only that, but this upgrade improved dropped call performance by 25%. In addition, according to PCWorld, AT&T’s upgrades helped boost their mobile data speeds passed Verizon’s, making them a good fit for anyone who needs a network with a fast connection. Even though AT&T has taken the necessary steps to be an elite service provider, many seem to maintain their viewpoint of being disappointed in what the network has to offer. However, due to the fact that rivals Verizon and Sprint use a limited network technology that is nearing its max potential speed, (CDMA), AT&T is expected to gain popularity as its GSM network grows and becomes substantially faster than that its rivals. In addition, as businesses are adapting mobile technology, GSM provides a much more unrestrictive use of phones, especially for those who travel out of the country. With CDMA phones, you are restricted to using your phone only with other CDMA networks, which can be hard to find outside the US. With AT&T’s GSM network being an international standard, it’s much better for traveling because of access to international roaming, putting AT&T ahead of all other networks nation-wide. Because of their persistence to be the best carrier and their position for long term success, AT&T’s perception should change along with the advancement of technology.
